    The Federal Government says the enrolment for Batch C beneficiaries of the N-Power Programme under the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP), will begin from June 26, 2020. “All applicants must supply their Bank Verification Number (BVN), in their application”, Sadiya Farouq, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, said on Friday." The announcement was contained in a statement by the Deputy Director of Information in the Ministry, Rhoda Iliya, on Friday. Farouq recalled that the programme was inaugurated by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2016 under the NSIP. She said the commencement of the Batch C enrolment is sequel to far reaching consultations and a review of the submissions on the reform and realignment of the programme for greater efficiency. NYSC submits proposal for camp reopening

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has embarked on measures that would enable safe and efficient conduct of its operations after lifting of COVID-19 restrictions on socio-economic activities in the country. The NYSC said the 2020 Batch ‘A’ Stream One Orientation Course was suspended one week into the exercise as a proactive measure to avert the spread of coronavirus to any of the orientation camps in Nigeria. The Director-General of NYSC, Brig. General Shuaibu Ibrahim, according to a statement issued on Tuesday by the NYSC Director of Press and Public Relations, Adenike Adeyemi, stated this during a courtesy visit on him by the DG of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, in Abuja. Why Canada Denied Air Peace Right To Evacuate Stranded Nigerians

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama’s move to patronise local carriers for the evacuation of Nigerians abroad has suffered a setback. The Canadian government had denied a local airline, Air Peace, landing right to evacuate Nigerian citizens in Ottawa on the ground that it has no license to undertake commercial flight to that country. Mr Onyeama confirmed the development on Thursday at the daily media briefing by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19. He however said his ministry was hopeful that the Canadian government would reverse its decision. He revealed that the Nigerian High Commissioner in Canada had opened discussion with his host government for it to have a rethink.
